Question:

Cheap AND good projector?

All right.... I'm proud to say that I'm launching a new website interface for Web 2.0, so I'm showing some of the people around me what I have started to design but....

I plan on using a projector to show people the new interface, and lots of other things to do with it. So, I was wondering, does anybody know where I can get a projector under about 100 bucks (can be from 100-120)? And can it be good? I don't know much about resolution, but something that if you put it onto a wall it would look good. I'm starting to look at Epson and some others, but I don't know what's the best. Any help?

  1. Sorry, but that's like asking for a 17" laptop with a 2 GHz dual core processor and 2 GB of RAM for $100 .... it isn't likely to happen.

Lamps alone cost $300 or more, so unless you can find a fire sale on a used fairly basic projector the best you are going to do on anything with decent resolution (>240 pixels) is about $300 ... and that will be a lucky find.

Realistically plan on $400-$500 minimum for something used or discontinued.

See projectorcentral.com for all sorts of info, including current prices.
