Question:

Cheap Auto Insurance for Bad Driver?

by  |  earlier

Which auto insurance company provides relatively low rates for drivers with a less than perfect driving record?

I'm an 18 year old male who has had a speeding ticket and an at-fault accident less than $750. (I know, it sucks)

I drive a 2005 Ford Mustang V6 4.0L Coupe

Ive already read all of the articles condemning me to a high premium, but is there any insurance company who is easier on bad drivers?

  1. Call around, get quotes. You need to do some leg work on this because each company will look at your record and intended vehicle differently. see this http://gsx1.com/InsuranceComparison.html it's one form to get a number of quotes from different insurers. It's free and a big time saver, these are all the main American insurers competing to get your business so you are bound to find something that suits you, if not, here's more from my bookmarks

Here's some others from my bookmarks:

  2. Two of the biggest high risk insurers are Geico - http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-3014621-1... and AIG Direct - http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-3014621-105...  I would suggest tying both of them.

  3. Try and go online and you get a whole list of Insurance Cos that you will be able to compare rates with.

But first, you will have to truthfully fill out the very lengthy questionnaire.

  4. Progressive & Geico carry high risk drivers... but for high risk drivers the premium is never really cheap! But they tend to go easier on high risk drivers.  Companies like Erie, Travlers, and State Farm are not so forgiving and don't like to carry high risk drivers.

I seems like you may have 3 strikes against you, #1 Have not been licensed for 3 years or more (inexperianced operator) #2 speeding ticket #3 an at-fault accident. Also if you have a 2005 Ford Mustang the vehicle is probably financed which means you need comp & coll which make the premium higher.

I would just call or stop into a local office for quotes or even go online for quotes.

    Good luck!
