Cheap Synthesizer for beginner

Question

Hey i want to start mixing up my own tracks and stuff for my band and i wanted to start using synths and c**p and i have no idea about them or how they work how you get the sounds how you modify them..nothing i have seen a Kaossilator which looks pretty cool but that's not a real synth is it
