Can anyone give me a recommendation for cheap but decent accommodation in central Rome for November. I am going with my parents for a few days. Any tips for eating out, tours etc would be most grateful too. Thanks.

  2. dear girl visit my store ebay:a post card from italy.

  3. I went to a one star hotel in via Nazionale, which was decent but i can't find it on the net. i link a list of 1 star places, hope it can help

  4. bring a tent and canned goodsss....

    hehehehe

  5. Hi, Check out www.hoteldina.com.....  Me and my son use it a lot, its not the Hilton but its reasonably priced and very close to everything you would like to visit.  Its about 100 yds from the Termini, so if you land at Fumocino its just the Leonardo express and a short walk.  If you land at Campino there's a coach to the Termini.  If you do go there give them Andrew and Aron's regards from Malta.

  6. Hi. As you are planning to go in november. It's a low season there in Italy. You will get plenty of good deals during that time. You can check out the B&B's or Hotels in Rome depending on the duration of the stay. For long holidays apartments or flats are the best. You can check the sites like romeby.com,travelsupermarket.com,astro.w...

venere.com. Booking in advance is always good. some of the sites only take your card number and charge only when you reach there. Others charge  a minimum amt. .

Staying near termimi station is good. As it is the central location. One can easily reach here from the airport, attractions are near by. There are quite a few eating joints near tremini area.

  7. we paid €80 for a double room in hotel porta maggiore last november but i cant remember who i booked it through. it was good value. the tram stops right outside the door.

you will need 2 really early mornings if you are going to do the vatican and the sistine chapel. eat away from the attractions, its cheaper.

  8. Your best bet is to do a city-wide search and look through all the room rates and see what's in your price range.

Head over to http://www.resideo.com/it/rome and click the "Check Availability" button.  Choose your dates, submit the form, then check out what's available.  The results are automatically sorted based on distance from the center of the city, but you can sort by price if you so choose (you'll still get to see how far out each hotel is).

You can then read about each hotel, view pics & book online.

    Good luck...and have fun!

  9. Check out lastminute.com I have booked 9 days plus flights from Ireland, in December for under €1,000 (for 2 people)!! best price I could find on the net !!

  10. I would look at travelsupermarket.com and read some of the reviews on the accomodation... they seem to have some really good prices.

Im hoping to go in October but havent booked yet.

  11. Go to Yahoo travel and look it up. I stayed at the XX Septembre which was not to bad like 80 bucks a night and it was 5 min walk from the main train station and 15 min from Trevi fountain and like 20 from coloseum. and 3 train stops from the vatican. Its not the best hotel but it is cheep and not to bad for european standards and in the heart of rome.

  12. i can give the website of official turism website in Rome.

You can go to check for guide tour and whatever.

It's good because you'll get the right price and good guides.

    here it is: www.romaturismo.it

    its telephon number is: 06/82059127

have a look also at www.romapass.it

it is a Roma card that will give you 2 museums at your choice for free, other discount and free pubblic transport. It costs 20 euro. i would reccomend it to you!

To eat, go to Trastevere, Testaccio..these are the place where roman people go eating they are quite cheap and very good! don't waste your money in eating in the restaurants in the center like Colosseo, San Pietro, Stazione Termini.

    have great time in Rome!

  13. November is a low season, I was there end of May to beginning of June, 3 of us, we pay  140 euro, later 2 of us, 120 euro, only 2 blocks fom the Termini, the whole side streets are hotels and they are all around the same rate. I think the best bet is you just go to expedia / traveolocity, get the location and when you get off the Termini, walk over to the streets where the hotels are and ask one after another till you find the one you like and the price is right, then you will get the best rate! or even better, leave your parents and your luggages in the termini, MacDonald or some coffee shop, you walk for about 2 blocks where the hotels are, just ask and check the conditions of the rooms till you find one you like then go and collect your luggages and parents.
