  1. Well I stayed at the Oakly Motel. It was a very good price at $70 dollars a night for a 2 person room. That was the cheapest in Melbourne we could find, it was 3 stars and was humble but had all the nescisities and we asked for a toaster and cups at no extra cost and it had a bar fride and tv and a shared laundry and the people who ran it were really nice and accomodating, the only thing I didn't like was there was no phone inside the room, but about a 3 or 4 minute walk away there was a public phone so that was ok, also there were bus's running from just outside the motel all the time that would take you further into the city. It was really good. :]

  2. Not sure if your amount was for the week or a night!  hehehe

There is also the option of backpacker places many close to the city and easy reach of transport!  all offer clean & cheap places to stay.

Suggest you look at each option to suit your budget -  enjoy your stay  :)

  3. Search for a backpackers Inn or a bed and breakfast accommodation, I know there's a good one in melbourne and its close to everything.

  4. There are a lot of motor inns in australia.  If you want cheap accomodation this is the way to go..cheers
