Cheap airfare to Halifax?

Where is the best site/airline to buy a plane ticket to Halifax, Nova Scotia, preferably around New Year's? I can fly out of any North Carolina airport, Virginia, or even DC.

I would sign up for fare alerts from a few cities to YHZ using http://www.farecompare.com

Also try http://matrix.itasoftware.com/cvg/dispat... and search multiple airports over a month.  For example, from CLT;RDU;ORF;RIC;WAS to YHZ.  With this site, put in your cities with no spaces and separated by semicolon--just like I did for you.  It will show you, generally, if it's worth a drive up to DC, or if fares from RDU, for example, are only slightly higher.  Take the cheapest cities and dates you see here, and go to http://www.bookingbuddy.com which will search that specific itinerary through many more sources to see if something cheaper turns up.

Right now, $645 from RDU is cheapest I see, and I think it's worth signing up for fare sales and waiting for something better.

The best way to start is to use travelocity.com. They also have suggestions for hotel ect,........maps,.. cars  ect

Halifax is an expensive destination, but I would focus on flights from DC - they should be cheaper.  Try www.kayak.com.  good luck.
