Cheap and Easy way to make a Homemade Floating Dock for a Pond?

My boyfriend has a pond but nothing to jump off of. We want to build a floating dock so we can jump. Does anyone know how to build one?? Thanks:)

What the first answerer said, but make sure the barrels are labelled "food safe" and were not used to store chemicals.  I would also not use treated lumber if you have a natural pond, as the copper will leach into the pond.  You should also be aware that a floating dock can become irresistible for neighboring children, which might increase the owner's legal liability.

Get, or buy 4, 55 gallon plastic barrels and build a frame around them. Makes a great 4' x 8' floating dock.

Oh, be sure to use treated lumber, and plywood for the deck. Do not use OSB.
