I want to take my husband away for a few days but am on a really tight budget, I found some very cheap flights, and need somewhere to stay. I dont really care what it's like as long as it's clean and friendly,(maybe a pub?) Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks, Christine.

  1. Avalon House on Aungier Street is a hostle with private rooms ensuite. This is in the south city centre 5 minutes from St. Stephen's shopping centre and near Dame Street and Grafton Street. You can easily walk to Temple Bar, Graton St, St Stephens Green, and Trinity from there. Depends on when you stay, but low season, a single private ensuite is 30-35 euro per night. Price includes small breakfast, linens and showers. They have lockers to put your bags for a small fee.

If you don't like hostels, try the Mespil. It is about 25-30 min from Temple Bar, but you can take a bus (No. 10 Bus) there and a taxi back. Rooms are from € 115.25. The aircoach stop to and from Dublin airport is nearby. This is a regular coach service from Dublin Airport to Dublin city centre- Ballsbridge / Donnybrook stop. The hotel is quiet. Hotels right in the city centre (e.g., Temple Bar) are noisy at night. Also, this hotel is handy because you are near a Tesco (grocery store), Burger King, Johnny Rockets, and a petrol station.

Another hotel i know of that is off O'Connell Street and in the city centre is the Celtic Lodge. It is right above the Celt Bar on Talbot Street. The rooms are ensuite, but small. Bed & Breakfast is about 95 euros low season. Within a 5 minute walk from both Connolly train Station and Bus Arás (central bus station). About 10-15 min across the Liffey from Temple Bar area.

If you want to stay in teh city centre (and don't mind the noise, lol):

Christchurch Hall comprises of and 2 bedroom apartments available for short and long-term stays. These self-catering Dublin apartments are located on a couple of minutes from Christchurch Cathedral in the heart of the city, only 3 to 5 minutes walking distance from the vibrant Temple Bar district, host to a vast array of pubs, clubs and restaurants. Make sutre to book a room with a balcony. A minimum stay of 2 nights is required in low season and 4 nights high season, The rooms are about 100-125 euro a night. But they can house up to 4-6 people and have kitchen and washer.

Address: Christchurch Hall, Christchurch, High Street, Dublin 8.

    Other hotels:

Guestrooms at Quality Inn Docklands are  ÃƒÂ‚£101-£121 . I am not sure the current value in euro (as I booked from Northern Ireland before). It is near Pearse DART station, but it is 1.5km from Temple Bar if you want to walk it. There are bus stops near by, or you can take a taxi.

Address:Cardiff Lane, Sir John Rogerson's Quay, Dublin 2.

Blooms Hotel is a really nice hotel right in Temple Bar. It is about £92.51 – £119.42 per night (very good deal for Dublin).

Address:6 Anglesea St, Temple Bar, Dublin, 2, Ireland

Comfort Inn Smithfield is located not far from Dublin city centre. The hotel is situated behind the Four Courts, across the Liffey from the Temple Bar district, and is ideal for business and leisure guests alike. A major advantage is that the hotel is located beside one of the LUAS light rail stations. Standard Single Room (One single bed)

From €106.0 to €107.0 EURO per room per night and Standard Double Room (Two single beds or one double)

From €129.0 to €131.0 EURO per room per night

Address: Comfort Inn Smithfield, Smithfield Plaza, D-7, Dublin, IRELAND

  2. I stayed at the Abbey Hostel on Bachelors walk recently and thought it was great. It's right on the river across from Temple Bar. We stayed in a private ensuite double for 50 euros a night for the room (so 25 each). Included breakfast, towels, and maid service. It was clean and quiet.

I use tripadvisor.com a lot to get real reviews of hotels, hostels, and b and b's.

    Have a great time!

  3. Hi, I got an apartment through Hotel Finder it has cost £21.75 each for 4 adults, for 1 night. They are on Mabott Lane which is just off O'Connell St so they are right in the centre of everything.  I have stayed in Wynn's Hotel which was nice, it was around 98 euros each for 2 nights stay B & B,  that was also in the centre so it was ideally located.  When you get to Dublin Airport you can get a bus Airlink into Dublin it takes around 45 mins from the airport and it costs around 7 euros each.  You get your ticket for the bus outside the terminal building and there are a lot of people around to help you. A tour bus which is a hop on off bus all day is around 14 euros they take you to all the main tourist attractions.  Henry St. is fantastic for shopping, and take a look in the Post Office on O'Connell St. it takes you back in time.  Have a great stay.

  4. Like jamie said,a B&B is probably your best bet. You should get cheaper rates the further you go out of the city. Out the airport direction is a good idea as you need not be worrying about traffic messing you about on your way to and from the airport.

We don't really do the pub accommodation thing here.

  5. You can e-mail    almani@indigo.ie        I stayed there. Good rates I think from 40 euro per night. It is close to Dublin Airport.

  6. I went to Dublin 2 weeks ago. Stayed in a lovely 3 star hotel in Parnell Sq. called Comfort Inn Granby Row, it was simply lovely!! very clean and it opened just a few months ago. It is super clean and super comfortable. The night is round 89 Euros which is a great price for a hotel that nice. I did my reservation with booking.com and I had no problems!! I would recommend it as it is near the city centre and my experience was really good. Have a nice time in lovely Dublin!!
