I need ideas that don't cost much but are interesting and show nature's beauty hopefully. I have a couple empty aquariums that i want to do something with and not particularly the traditional fishtank because i already have one of those and its enough work. I was wondering if anyone had some ideas that are pretty cheap on the budget. Thanks. I did check on google but didn't really find what i was looking for and there's so much to read through.

  2. U got it! same as i did, u must cleaning ur aquarium first by fill it with water and stay it over 2 day. Then u put small colourfull rock at the bottom. for the air, u can use something usefull from ur house which is a plastic tube, then u make 5 holes in there before u put the cheap air system at pet shop. u can buy also the light for the last decoration, buy the cheap one at pet shop, the smallest with white color, then u can mix it the color by colorfull paper plastic over it.  So whenever u bored with the light color u can just do the simple changed paper plastic over it.

i hope this one will help!

    i loved fish^^

  3. It's kinda late in the summer to get started, but do a terrarium!

In the bottom of the tank put about 2 inches of play sand mixed with pebbles and activated charcoal (petstore) for a drainage system.

Then add about 4-6 inches of non fertilized potting soil.

Add plants that are from a certain region, you can make a jungle, a forest etc....

I used ferns and other jungle plants.

Plant them and get a uv bulb to help them grow and water at least every other day.

You can add frogs or anoles later to the tank to make it more interesting if you desire!

  4. if you don't particularly want fish add some nice multicolored non-floating plants and add some snails maybe even a small algae eater. use a nice flow filter or one of those bubble blower things and then it should be fairly low maintenance and a very soothing addition to ones home.

  5. Do you like snails, fiddler crabs and shrimp?  If so, you could set up a pretty cool invertebrates tank. Shrimp, crabs and snails won't cost you much, anywhere from $0.10-$6.00 and they are easy to take care of. You just toss an algae wafer in there every day and they're happy! (break the wafer up and spread it out around the tank though or else 1 will hog it all lol) They will need a small filter though. Good luck!
