My boyfriend just proposed to me today and he says I get to pick out my own ring. The only thing is, I'm scared to pick out one that is too expensive for him as we are both on a budget. I know exactly what I want but every jewelry store website I try is way too expensive! Any help??

  1. Go to QVC  and look at their diamondnique rings. They are gorgeous and they are guaranteed. They are cubic and would fit your budget. Unless you told that it wasn't a real diamond no one would know. www.qvc.com

  2. I know a lady who bought the most beautiful wedding rings 11 years ago from QVC and they are still beautiful.  You can buy white gold or yellow.  As long as you don't get an outlandish stone, no one will ever ask.  She recently updated her center stone with one of those 128 point stones...absolutely breathtaking!  Spend the extra and get the insurance.  And now they have the colored stones...just what you are looking for.  HSN also has the 128 point stones.  no one except you and he will ever know.

  3. Believe it or not, check HSN & QVC......they often have jewelry clearances.....perfect for a budget, and each item comes with reviews so you can research what others think of it......then later on if you choose you can upgrade...good luck.

I have purchased some gemstone rings from them....they have always appraised for far more than what they are sold for.......in fact I recently got a garnet cluster ring set in heavy sterling....the quality of the gems is first rate........check it out...., also, check out Novica.....I have gotten some beautiful handcrafted pieces thru them-third world artists sponsored thru National Geographic.....Jewels For me is another option. good luck.

  4. First of all, choose a style you like, then let him buy a similar one within his budget.

Secondly, be careful with choosing - because for some rings, it may be hard to match fit with a wedding band so it sits fairly flush around the setting of the centre stones.

  5. how about settling for something smaller until both of you are a little more financially stable?

  6. What about

It's not exactly what you described but it's definitely in budget and I think it's really pretty and antique looking.  What I think doesn't really matter though.  Someone else posted to try overstock.com as well, that's where I found this one.  They have GREAT priced on gemstone jewelry!

  7. GO TO A PAWN SHOP THEY SELL EVERYTHING AT A COST OR TRY A PLACE CALLED ''ROBINS BROTHERS WORLDS BIGGEST ENGAGMENT RING STORE'' I HEAR THEY HAVE GREAT PRICES!! & THAT THEY HAVE SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE.

ROBINS BROTHERS HAS A WEB SITE TOO.

    GOOD LUCK!!

  8. How about this one?

    Or this one?

    http://www.amazon.com/White-Gold-Genuine...

I think they're both beautiful.  Good luck & congrats!!!

  9. im suprised u find yellow gold tacky, lol, i think the white gold just looks like plain silver, just more money, maybe u should just get silver with all the stones u like cuz white gold is expensive. period.

  10. Go into a local store -- not a high end Tiffanys but even a locally managed chain would be okay -- local preferable though. Tell them your dilemma and budget and they can definitely help you out. They are less likely than the chains and high-ends to try to shame you or insist the engagement ring is an investment and it is somehow improper to have anything less than the most expensive.

So forget about online. Make time to go downtown/uptown to the local place and I am sure they will help you find something beautiful and meaningful in your range.

It would help if you were a little flexible in your choices. White gold should be no problem-- what if you found a beautiful aquamarine maybe without diamonds or with one or tiny diamonds for more like $200. I am positive they can find you something like that you will love if you go in with an open mind.

  11. I also am allergic to fake stuff.. I found an interesting thing last night and I'm trying to share it .. why not a pearl engagement ring   i think they look so classic.. here is an example.. http://www.shecypearljewelry.com/pearl-r... and a matching band.. http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view....     this is probably something I will get at least for now   in a few years when we are settled a little and have more money we will upgrade my set.. CONGRATS!

  12. Try these:

  13. Talk to him honestly about you budget. That's the first thing that a couple needs to get straightened out.

Try your local antique shops and consignment stores(that's where we got our's). You can also take a look on eBay, but don't bid right away(unless it's But It Now), and sign up for UnWired Buyer.
