My daughter wants to invite her class, so will probably not be at home. I have priced bowling, chuckecheese's, skating, and macdonalds..too expensive. I am looking at the $50 range. Thanks!

  1. For $50 you aren't going to get much.  Even the zoo is going to be more than $50 for a class of 8 year olds.  How many kids are you expecting? Most classes have between 25-30 kids these days in them.

If your industrious bake your own cupcakes and get icecream cups at the store. Have a theme and have kids dress in costume to the theme you pick (favorite book character, favorite candy, favorite board game etc..)

You could also just get a cake and some icecream, a few balloons and go to a nearby park to have it. Entertainment is built in with playgrounds right there usually at most and you have lots of room. Organize games like tag, hide and seek, four corners, kickball etc. to play.  Let everyone take home a balloon tied to a container of sidewalk chalk or bubbles at the end (check dollar tree for 3 packs for $1 to save some money on bubbles or chalk).

Have a sleep over. Invite all the class and make their own pizza. Watch a movie and have on the invites to boys that pick up time is 8:00 or 9:00 for example that night. Girls stay over until the next morning.  Sleep overs at this age are easy. Just make a bowl of microwave popcorn, set out some drinks, fruit and other snacks. Provide approved kid safe DVD's and board games for them to play. Let them do each other's hair, play freeze dance,  a crazy talent show etc..  It'll be a blast and you won't need alot of extra to do it.  If you do it on a Friday after school through Saturday morning you'll be fine. (from experience, make sure the invites are clear on pick up times for the sleep over participants or you'll have kids at your house all day!  Something like "please pick up your daughter before 9:00 am on Saturday morning".  )

You could also set up a couple camping tents in your yard (borrow them if you need to from family/friends) Do about 3-4 of these.  Set up different activities in each tent. I'm sure you could recruit a handful of friends or family to help. Face painting in one, balloon animals in another, paint a flower pot in another (and send home a pack of seeds with each child to plant at the end. The 4 inch terracotta pots at craft stores are really inexpensive!), and movie in the house to end with.  Bake cupcakes or your cake for the birthday girl, get a few balloons (some places will blow up balloons for you that are helium ready very cheaply- .50 each sometimes- which are way cheaper than mylar ballons which are a couple dollars each!)  The kids can then do a backyard adventure theme. Break them into groups counting off by 3. Start each group in a different tent  (except the movie) and rotate every 15-20 minutes.  Finish with happy birthday and cake with everyone watching the movie you picked together.

  2. I like the zoo idea or maybe a park?  Kids seem to find a lot to do outdoors.  Have some other parents come to help you out.  You can bbq hotdogs and have chips and cake.

  3. take them to skating rink

  4. take them to the zoo. then home and order pizza!

  5. we always invited the whole class. you can go to a dollar store and buy lots of stuff there and bake cupcakes or a cake. make your own invatitions with construction paper they are cute and more fun than buying or using the computer, and make your own decorations. have it at the park or at home. the park is best because the kids can play there. get water balloons there are lots of fun things to do at the park. oh and bubbles out of dish soap and clothes hangers you shape the close hangers use wire ones. they have them at the dollar store too

  6. Take them to a park. Give jump ropes and balls as party favors. You are not going to be able to have a party at any place for $50. You can also search outdoor games online and find some fun activities that don't cost anything that you will be able to do at the party.

  7. why not have it at a local park, depending where you live... someparks have tables and benches. you can do the party there. and all you need is the cake and supplies such as napkins, cups, plates, etc.   Or maybe you can have the party in your backyard... if you have one. you will still need the supplies listed above.. and maybe a few ideas for games.. and maybe  a radio so the kids can dance. If your looking to invite a whole class and wanted to do it at the places you mentioned.. there are no other places that get cheaper than those. good luck.

  8. we had a cheap party but still an good theme party by havinga backwards party. all the kids wore their clothes backwards and we hadname tags with their names written on backwards. we sang happy birthday backwards and even ate the cake first then the lunch. everyone loved it becuase it was differnt. we played lots of games like relays etc doing them backwards. going to the park would give you space to do fun races and the backwards theme would make it a bit fancier than just an ordinary party. if you have only $50 i would go with a sausage sizzle or hot dog lunch at the park and then make some cup cakes for the birthday cake, arrange them on a board somehow pretty with stuff and then give each child one cake. there are lots of fun games you can play with a large group of kids. go to a cheap dollar or two dollar store and get some fun things for prizes. take balls and bats and let them play their own games or just explore the park. most important thing is to hvae fun and you are teaching the kids that money isnt what makes the fun its the imagination that makes it.

  9. Is her birthday in the spring or summer?

If so, you can do a party at a park

    You have a playground

    One that have table

You can do food, if you can not cook out, picnic food, Cake, soda, etc.

My daughter is in march, where I live, to cold

  10. how about a park?

  11. take them to a park and play. have a cook out

  12. do you have a dollar tree in your town? if so then you can get most of your party supplies there for mega cheap!!! you can also make the cake yourself to save money or if you decide to have the party at your house you can make cup cakes then let the kids decorate them their self.  if you don't want to have it at your house i would take them to a park where they have a gazebo. also you should ask some of your friends or other parents to help with the supervision. hope y'all have fun!!
