  1. why besides linksys?  Any router works fine with the Wii... Netgear is the other really good brand besides linksys so i would recommend the netgear entry-level wireless-G router.  here is the link from google shopping:

    http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q...

(its between $20 and $40 depending on where you get it)

PS: If you are looking for the new wireless-N standard, try one of netgear's wireless N routers

EDIT: goes wireless without router? what does that mean?

  2. the one i am thinking of is from d-link and it is called rangebooster it is as fast as the linksys and the range isn't as big but it is better than their old models the price is around 60-100 depending where you buy it. But sometimes you can get is really cheap at a store. I once went to a Best Buy to get a linksys and it was expensive 180 but they had one that someone returned and they fixed it so they were selling it for only 60 which was a great deal and it works great. Maybe you could get lucky also. Hope This Helps!

    Good Luck!

  3. Do you have an internet connection?

If you do, buy a Nintendo Wii/DS USB router. That way you can connect to your Wii through the computer without disabling your FireWall.

If you do not have a connection, I would go for a Westell brand. (Try to find a 6100 model, Nintendo has full Tech-Support if you can't connect your Wii to the internet. Though I'm not sure of the cost).

    Hope this helps!
