Cheap but pretty effective police detectors?

Yes I do speed and no I really don't plan on stopping, so please dont just answer with "Dont Speed".

I am looking for a police detector that does the job of letting me know if a cop is around me, but I also dont have a huge amount of money to spend. That being said, the cheaper the better (to a point).

What can you recommend me?

I can recommend you to not ask questions that involve illegal activity, which is against YA policy.

You get what you pay for in radar detectors. If you buy cheap, you don't get much protection. I recommend the Escort series ( http://www.escortradar.com ) or Valentine ( http://www.valentine1.com/). Both will give you the best protection for your money.
