Cheap central paris hotel?

Question

I am looking for a hotel in paris, as long as it is clean , has private bathroom and is about £65 for a double room alls great. prefferably as central as possible. Any suggestions/recommendations?

I stayed there last summer, and it was beautiful. Next to Luxembourg Gardens, only a few minutes walk from Notre Dame. It has a private shower with toilet down the hall. I paid 55 Euros for a double room. The man who runs it is incredibly kind and let us sleep for free on an extra mattress in a laundry room for one night (there was a misunderstanding about when we would arrive and he had no empty rooms). He speaks very good English. Also, there is an elevator and free breakfast.

There are several in that general price category but my personal favorite is the Hotel St. Andre des Arts. I've stayed there dozens of times over the last 30+ years. Doubles with private bath and breakfast are 89 €, inclusive of taxes. (£71 at current rates)

Another old standby is the Hotel Tiquetonne  at 6 rue Tiquetonne in the 2nd arrondissment. A double with private facilities (but no breakfast) will cost 50 € (£40).
