Cheap & easy bus/train that goes from Salou to Barcelona, so we dont have to go on a first choice excursion?

RENFE (Spanish National Rail) runs regular clean and efficient services from Salou and Port Aventura train stations direct to Barcelona Sants. Tthe journey takes just over an hour, and from there you can take the Barcelona Metro, which will take you to the main sites of the city.

Salou train station has a ticket office (but is normally extremely busy, especially in the morning), Port Aventura is an unmanned station, but either way you can buy tickets on the train.

The Guard normally can speak (or at the very least understand) English, so he can help you get the right ticket for your needs.

It's certainly a cheap and efficent way to travel between the two cities, and I would recommend it over the First Choice excursion anyday.
