  1. You won't be out too much money.  You can get cheap airfare when you get here.  It is NOT cheaper to book AirAsia in advance!  The cheapest flights to Phnom Penh and HCMC might well be on AirAsia, BUT they will almost always be booked cheaper here.

Best advice, stay in a guest house a couple days at Kao San Rd and shop around the travel agents and figure out what you want to do.

    Cheers!

  2. HI if you look at this site you can go from bkk to hanoi or ho chi minh , then fly from there to cambobia

    http://www.tnktravelvietnam.com/html/tic...

they take @ 24 hours to answer email,s and if you pay with credit card you need to scan your card and passport and email it to them

We were in both places in june and are going back to ho chi minh & na trang & hanoi then to siem reap on the 5 sept if we get flights to v/nam from our airmiles

You will need a visa for both places , you can get cambodia visa on line (easy) you need to send passport away for v/nam

  3. AirAsia from Bangkok to Phnom Penh, Ho Chi MInh City or Hanoi. You're not going to find any cheaper flights to Vietnam or Cambodia than Air Asia.

  4. Why not spend a few days in Bangkok - since you are already there!    If you are young stay in the Khao San Road area, you can spend a few days seeing Bangkok and make arrangements for your flight to Cambodia or Vietnam.  (If you are not a kid or really young, choose a hotel near the Skytrain, perhaps in the Sukhumvit Road area. Lots of nightlife, travel agents, street markets, supermarkets for food and best of all you will have access to the Skytrain to get you around town real easy.  (No Skytrain in the Khao San Road area.)

Another option is that you can also go overland through Thailand to Cambodia if you want.     http://www.talesofasia.com/cambodia-over...

Sometimes traveling in a group slows you down and gets you in trouble, especially if they are real young.
