Cheap flights to Cancun from Chicago?

We're looking for very cheap flights from Chicago to Cancun.We plan to leave Saturday 16th of August and return 23rd of August.Thank you for your help.

i hate to tell you but you are not going to find anything cheap at this late notice.  spirit has them for around 500 each for round trip.....probably the best price you will find.  with gas prices like they are......airline tickets are terrible.  you can check spirit....they did have some sales for 79 each way plus tax....but i am not sure of departure cities for those prices or if the sale is still going on.  check it out  www.spiritair.com

cheaptickets.com is my favorite. but some people swear by kayak.com. also check the airline-specific sites, sometimes they run last minute specials. obviously, look for an airline that has a hub in Chicago--AA.com is one, but O'Hare is huge so there are probably about a dozen more.

another idea, try taca.com for the central american airline. i flew to Costa Rica for less than $300. we had a couple of connections, but the staff from the reservation agent to the flight attendants were excellent, spoke perfect english--and every flight was on time. (i'm a frequent flyer now! LOL just have to learn spanish so i can read their e-newsletter :)
