  1. Depending on where you live it can be really cheap to sail. Newcastle to Amsterdam was about £100 return when I last looked. Try looking as dfdsseaways it takes overnight but can be quite fun, there are cafes and bars and some ships have a cinema and pool. From Newcastle train station a bus takes you to the port and in Amsterdam you can get bus to the city too. They can book hotels if you need them as well.

  2. A site which is recommended time and again in the Travel section is http://www.skyscanner.net/

It checks different airlines including all the budget ones and you can choose to look at different locations/countries or even look at one month (whereas with most sites you have to pick day by day to compare prices)

It is updated online so retains the current prices and comes up with the cheapest price time & again.  So my vote goes for this one

  3. http://www.google.com/search?q=cheap+fli...

  4. book up with jet2.com two or three months ahead of your trip. and you will always get a good deal ( this is the best no thrills airline by far!)

  5. look at

    cheepflights.com

  6. TRy KLM

  7. jet2.com

  8. Comparethemarket.com

  9. Easyjet and Ryanair.
