  1. hahahaha.  sorry but i seriously wouldnt stay in a cheap guest house in london, its liable to have cockroaches or rats.  go for a nice safe ibis or travel lodge if you want something cheep.

  2. We went this route, and lived to tell about it. LOL

The toilet/bathroom was up the hall a ways.

We found a hairs on our bed pillows, the TV had a coat hanger for an aerial.

In the lounge we went to move the table and a leg fell off,

In the breakfast room there was a counter with chairs and breakfast plates and cutlery laid out, the guy was wiping down the wall complaining about people using the bathroom and water running down the wall.

    He wiped the plates dry!!

  3. If you're young and single and want to save money then you can stay in a hostel.  There are lots of hostels catering to backpackers and tourists on a budget although you've usually to be single and under 35.  There are some guest houses in London but they're usually in surrounding areas such as Surrey / Kent etc. if you want a nice one.  If you want to see what there is then go to www.smoothhound.co.uk and search there.  You might be able to get a cheaper hotel as there are so many in London and check out www.laterooms.com, www.expedia.co.uk and www.opodo.com for these.  If you find one you like and don't know how good it is read real visitors reviews on www.tripadvisor.com to find out what they're like.  If you are booking in advance then places like Travelodge or Holiday Inn do good deals in advance but can be quite pricey if you're booking last minute.  You are normally looking at around £120 a night for a semi decent 3 star hotel in London.
