Cheap holiday in ireland ? is it possible?

and if it is ....north or south ? ive a mate in belfast but i'd love to tour the south aswell ?

Yea, if you can walk across water, sleep rough, hunt for your own food, then it's cheap enough.

Nothings cheap in Ireland anymore.  Some hotels do mid-week deals but saying they are cheap would be stretching it.

Well Ireland is very expensive to stay!! But if you looked hard enough you would find somewhere nice and cheap!! I would recommended Galway its fabulous there and the B&B's are very cheap like 45euro per night, theres lots to do up there and you are guareented a very fun time up there!!

ireland is not very cheap im from south only advice i cav give you is to get mid week deals its a good time to go off peak or use hostels best places to visit would be galway(its a great place)cork dublin kilkenny(medieval capital) kerry clare(lovely scenery cliffs of moher the burren etc)most other places are not really worth the time and money definately visit galway you wont regret it hope this helps

Plenty of high quality hostels in each of the bigger cities and towns such as Limerick, Cork, Galway, Waterford, Dublin and Westport.

Buy your own food in one of the big supermarkets (Tesco; Dunnes Store; Supervalue) and cook in the hostel as most will have their own kitchens.

Loads of cheap beer and alcohol to be got in places like Lidl and Aldi and then pubs often offer free live entertainment most weekend nights.  Free live bands are available in pubs every nite of the week in cities like Dublin (The Temple Bar, Oliver St Gogartys) and Galway (Kings Head, Taffees, The Quays).

Tours to places like Cliffs of Moher/Burren from Galway city or Glendalough and the Wicklow mountains from Dublin should cost no more than say 25euro through Bus Eireann.

Yes it is possible, there are loads of low budget accomodation. Check out the link below it's for a backpacking tour of Ireland the company that runs it are beside my workplace in Dublin and they are suppose to be really good and cheap have a look and enjoy

Can't speak for Northern Ireland but you can hire a cottage www.shamrockcottages.com relatively cheaply, depending on when you go (avoid the school holidays if you can, as places are much cheaper out of season).

Some are expensive but others aren't too bad.

Ireland on the whole is expensive but provided you're happy to budget and forgo going out getting the drinks in every night (in which case you'll be cleaned out!) there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to visit.

A great hotel in VERY central Dublin is Drury Court hotel - it's small, but the rooms are perfectly fine and you can walk EVERYWHERE from there.  It cost me and my man £62 per night including a very nice breakfast - much cheaper than other hotels of the same calibre in Dublin and really convenient if you're staying a couple of days...

If you get out of Dublin then go to the West - Co. Kerry is my favourite, and I recommend the Killarney National Park.

We get ripped off in Britain as it is but things are more expensive over there, although petrol is cheaper and really you don't notice much difference apart from alcohol, which is REALLY expensive.

But go and enjoy it!  It's a FAB place to be...

Cheap is not an option in Ireland.

It is a beautifull country, very green, but everything but cheap .
