Question:

Cheap hotel in Goodyear Arizona?

My boyfriend and I would like to go to Goodyear, Arizona for Spring Training with the Cleveland Indians this year. However, he is a college student on a budget, and I'm on quite a small budget, as well.

Are there any cheap, but decent, hotels in Goodyear, Arizona or Phoenix? Phoenix is about 30 minutes East of Goodyear, it seems on a map. Thankfully he just turned 21, so that opens the door for more hotels. Last year we went with them to Florida and we only had one choice for a hotel since neither of us were 21+. Luckily it wasn't too bad of an experience. I'm expecting $50-$70 a night. Which sucks. But oh well. I would really like to go towards the cheaper one, though.

We went through one of those travel websites last year, and they ended up charging us $10 extra a night at the hotel we stayed at, so I hoped to book this one on our own. So please no suggestions like "Go through expedia" or anything like that.

Thanks.

  1. Try http://hotwire.com to find one.

  2. I travel frequently and I can tell you honestly, Expedia does have some really good deals.  Sometimes you can book directly through the hotel but you may be missing out on some perks thrown in through Expedia. One of my most recent trips to Tucson (January '08) I stayed at a recommended hotel that had a bargain price, only if I reserved with the referred group.  I booked online with Expedia and saved at least $20 per night.

    So...

    But back to your situation.

There are at least two Motel 6 locations out that way.  The best thing to do is reserve now.

Do a quick search of hotels in Goodyear, AZ and take it from there.

If you see a decent rate, read the reviews, go directly to the hotels website, check the rates, see if they offer any packages, ask if they have any discounts, and I might have this off by a day but you've got time to check on this -I believe I heard something said by one of the Today Show travel guru's that booking on a Thursday (?) often gave the best rates.

And keep in mind, Spring Training takes place during Arizona's high season.  Hotel rates are higher, more tourists are in town, more events are going on, fabulous weather, etc.

  3. Try here:

That or you could stay in a tire.  Ha ha, I'm lame.  Anyway, that site should have the cheapest deals online for just about anywhere.

  4. Search here for cheap hotels

    http://www.jetsetgotravels.com

It provides search option like near a landmark etc

But beware ... cheap hotels can be trouble some times so check reviews of the hotel you are going to book.

Check the exact location of hotel from google maps.
