  1. hey there I used to buy cheap make up alot but realized i broke out in drug store c**p or got stye's and such but I kno now to buy exp foundation and conceler

mascara eyeshadow doesnt really matter lipstick usually is tacky if cheap so i splurge on that too lip gloss doesnt really matter i like the cheaper stuff its less sticky i find brushes if i dnt have the money i go to the art store like micheals to pick up paint brushes work jsut as good as a $100 set of brushes and only costs $20

  2. i think makeup and hair products are not a place to cut cost.

yeah i use MAC and aveda.

  3. Just because a product is expensive, doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to work better. I could go on and on about expensive products that I've bought and were horrible. And there are times where you can find inexpensive products that blow your mind. You sort of have to look at products individually and find what you like. Right now, my favorite eyeliner is actually a drugstore brand that I like way better than any department store/ high end brand. Good luck!

  4. if you can afford it i'd say spend more. like you said it's for your face therefore you should only put the best stuff on it. unfortunatley i cant afford the expensive stuff lol

  5. I used to use expensive eyeshadow until i found a nice eye primer from mary kay that keeps any eyeshadow in place and looking good all day. For foundation i just use covergirl radiance and it seems to work fine for me.  last year i bought cheaper mascara but this year i'm planning to buy the natural/organic stuff that doesn't make your lashes stiff.

  6. Never spend a lot of money on makeup. The only products to invest in is skin care products and possibly foundation. For everything else, get it at the drugstore. Hope this helps!

  7. For foundation, I'm willing to fork out alot.

For eyeshadows, eyeliners, blushes, etc etc...

I've found alot of cheaper alternatives that work just as well.

  8. It really isn't so much about the price, although what I'm about to recommend is usually more expensive do to current lack of demand (due to another lack - education).

The best things for your face will be make up that doesn't have all the c**p that most drug store cosmetics contain.  I get my make up from places like Aveda, Origins, Whole Foods, etc.  Burt's Bees lip products are great, too.

The US cosmetics industry is not very well regulated.  This means they can put just about anything in their cosmetics, and as long as it doesn't cause an immediate reaction (like anaphylaxis or scarring rashes) in MOST people they go for it.  An example is sodium laurel/laureth sulfates.  I actually have to look out for those in most things as they are known to aggravate acne and eczema (both of which I am prone to).  Also, many eyeliners can cause eye irritation, especially in contact lens wearers.

I invested in some great foundation from Origins that I absolutely love.  If you don't have any of these stores near you, consider shopping online or at least comparative shopping at your drugstore.  If I am visiting my parents and realize I've forgotten to pack something, I'll go to a Rite Aid or CVS and look for Physician's Formula or at the very least make up brands that are hypoallergenic.  One thing to do is compare ingredients lists (if they are even listed...they don't have to).

As far as skin care goes, I've been relying on Alba products, which are EU directive compliant.  That's one way to assure the product at least a little safer than most US products, as other countries are currently enforcing much more stringent cosmetics regulation.  Just because the FDA approves it doesn't mean it's actually good for you.

Alba has recently become available in many chain drugstores.

  9. expensive bt make up makes ur skin look old and rankly.X

  10. I think it depends on the product.

I like Clinique. Its not 'dime-store' makeup, but its not like $100s and $100s of dollars, either.

    Lancome is really nice too.

Ya, I like the more expensive makeup

  11. i like cover girl foundation a lot, the tru blend, and its pretty cheep. also, with eye liners and shadows, millani sells really cute shades, and you can get them cheep at CVS,  and other drug stores. i say go with cheep, because its just makeup, and the most expensive isnt always the best.

  12. I always go with expensive.

  13. An expensive foundation & mascara.

But i wear a really cheap eyeliner, but its amazing.

I wear a cheap lipgloss, its the perfect colour and i also wear a cheap blusher, but its a stunning pink :)

Not all has to be expensive to look good..
