Cheap places to live in the world?

Question

I am a USA citizen and will be getting duel citizenship of the UK. I am looking for a cheap home to retire to when I am a bit older. I love gardening and don't mind it if it is a bit of a dump that needs fixing up.

I am considering Bulgaria.

Do you know any other places that are cheap to live?

spain is a really cheap place to live the property is cheap the food is really cheap and the alcohol is even cheaper!!!! but you have to be a good driver and really relaxed life style because you normally have a long way to drive before you get somewhere unless you live in the middle of a city where tourists will be in which case not so cheap to live lol

I'd go with Mexico. It's definitely a lot closer to home, just in case.
