Cheap snowboards?

Question

Where can I get a very cheap (Less than $100) snowboard? My friend and I are going to start snowboarding, but we've never tried ...or only a little. So we want beginners snowboards, but not junky plastic ones.

Where can we get these?

What brand do you suggest?

kmart, or walmart. if you are gettinf into snowbaording then i would rent a board from the rsort, rather than go buy a new one, it will be cheaper and if you dont like it then give it back. simple easy. then if you do like it go get yourself a nice burton, forum, libtech, gnu, or something those are some of the brands you will be seeing. go for burton though.

You can go to some snowboarding stores and find some.

There is this really crappy brand called Lamar thats really cheap, but they are actual snowboards at least.

Sometimes you can find quality brands like K2 or Sims in sporting goods stores too, for pretty good prices.

craigslist? also, sorry to break it to you but most snowboards under $100 are the junky plastic kind.

I got a really heavy $40 off craigslist, but it's not very good.

Play it again sports is great for used boards...I don't know if they are nationwide or just in New England though.

The board you are looking for unfortunately doesn't exist. You are better off renting, they way the equipment is in good shape and you don;t have to worry about anything.

The cheapest you can get a board, boots, and bindings for at this time of year is around $250. And those are for the no name brands. If you expects to get a brand like Burton, Ride, K2, etc. Expect to pay at least $400 for a set up with boots. Then on top of that you need goggles (in New England they are a necessity).

Just rent. If you like it, then you can buy. Plus if you rent they will properly fit you for boots and a board.
