I am looking to spend like $10k-15k and on payments (college student) but it has to have room to move small loads because my job requires it sometimes. Not to old of a car though, hoping for 2006-2008, the newer the better.

Needs to have good gas mileage too because of how gas is right now and I'll be driving a lot.

Anyone have any good suggestions? I like the Honda CR-V but it's pricey.

  1. You are dreaming my friend. First off, there is no such thing as an SUV with good gas mileage. Second if you want anything newer than a 2004 you'd better find at least $8,000 more.

  2. Get yourself a 2006 Pontiac Vibe.  You should be able to find one for just over $10k and they offer plenty of size and great gas mileage, (upwards of 30 MPG).

Do yourself a favor and don't listen to people who say that all American cars are garbage.  Fact of the matter is any car will last forever if you just maintain it properly.

  3. I'm going to say the Ford Escape Hybrid. They get 34/30 EPA MPG. A brand new one is $26,000+ but you may be able to pick one up thats a few years old and has a extra few thousand miles for less.

  4. Dodge caliber SUV, 35 MPG, plenty of room

  5. My friend sair her Honda Element got good mileage.  Don't know about cost.

  6. more reasonably priced and better mileage--- saturn vue... get a stick shift for even more fuel effeciency!

  7. Hyundai Santa Fe

    V6 05 $12 to $14,000

    Pontiac Vibe
