  1. Saint sulpice church for beautiful flamboyant gothic architecture

    The Modern Art Museum at Georges Pompidou Center

    La Villette with friends--huge park with interesting futuristic architecture to look at

    Shakespeare and Company bookstore across from Notre Dame.

    The Mosque of Paris is gorgeous-but not on Fridays.  Metro: Place Monge in 5eme arrondissement.  And a stroll in the Jardin des Plantes afterwards.

Wander through street markets on rue Montorgueil and rue Mouffetard.  Stroll the Champs Elysees or Boulevard St. Germain.  Visit Notre Dame.  Spend time in various gardens -- Jardin des Plantes, Jardin du Luxembourg, and the Tuileries.  For a bit of art with the garden, visit Palais Royal to see odd metal sculptures (free) or the garden at the Musee Rodin, which has many works sprinkled through it and is very low cost.

Yes, there are ways to spend money here (to climb to the towers or visit the museum). But it doesn't cost a dime to walk inside and around the lovely cathedral. The cathedral also hosts several free concerts.

    Take a free guided tour of a breathtaking Napolean III townhouse while learning about the history of perfume. The museum features perfumery objects from various time periods. It's certainly worth a visit to see the lovely home and decor alone.

    5. Free Galleries Lafayette Fashion Shows

    Few things scream Paris more than fashion. You can feel like one of the elite without even opening your Gucci purse by attending one of the weekly fashion shows at the Paris Galleries Lafayette department store (grand magasin). They are held each Friday at 3 p.m.
