I would suggest going to TKTS and getting tickets. Or you can try:

Student Rush: $31.50 - may be available on the day of the performance when the box office opens.  Wednesday and Thursday only.  Limit 2 per valid ID. Subject to availability.

Standing Room: $21.25 - available at the box office on the day of the performance only if the performance is sold out. Goes on sale two hours prior to curtain. Limit is 2 per person.

The above ideas are excellent - but let me offer one more.  If you have a groups of people that are going, you can even get Group Sales tickets at LESS than those prices.  A friend had 12 people from her family that were going to me in NYC to see a show.  Groups Sales started at 15 or more - but the prove was SO GOOD, she could even throw away 3 tickets and save money!  This might not apply to you THIS time - but you never know when you can use this info in the future!

Also, go for a less-popular day.  Stay away from weekends, and Wednesdays.
