  1. There are a few more details i need on you travelling.

If you are traveling on the off peak times your entire journey would set you back  ÃƒÂ‚£31.40

If you travel in the peak time this would cost you a cushty 34.50.

However travelling early morning you may need seperate tickets as there may not any through trains to york.

    Hope this helps.

  2. http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/

  3. Advance singles start from just £6 each way on East Midland services+connections. (£3.95 railcard)

These are East Midlands singles (ex MML), valid for the specified train only, and can reduce it to just £12 return. (£7.90 railcard)

ex-Virgin Value singles start at £8 each way.(5.60 railcard)

GNER start from £15.50 each way, with 10% off online. (No railcard discounts at all)

Try to get an East Midlands one if you can, as they are cheaper.

  4. don't go by train. Get the National Express.

  5. Updating the answer from Leeuth. whether or not there are any straight through trains, you will not need seperate tickets. Just one ticket will do, or 2 if you get the advance purchase tickets. One each way.

One ticket will get you from Nottingham to York though, even if you have to change a dozen times (which you dont).
