Cheap train tickets to/from bath spa to/from sunderland

Question

I am wanting to get a ticket from and to bath spa to and from sunderland. I.e. travelling from Bath spa on the 27th August and coming back on the 30th August. All tickets prices are insanely priced and even national express buses are at least £74. Can anybody help to tell me where I can get really cheap tickets, I'm really not fussed about standard of place, but preferably with few changes, and please none through London.

Always get the coach /  bus it will work out cheaper than the train.

There will only be one National Express bus route to your destination and the price should be cheaper than this - check again.

If you do not travel on peak weekend days Friday / Saturday the prices can be cheaper.

Go down to the Bus or Train booking office where you can communicate better with the sales people - don't rely on phone queries.
