  1. Another option is to travel with somebody who is going to the same city. You only need to pay a part of the fuel costs.

This webpage is pretty useful: http://www.mitfahrzentrale.de/

And you don't need to be scared. It is safe! Normal people travelling with normal people :o)

  2. The cheapest would probably taking the train for approx. 74 Euros one way or 120-140 Euros roundtrip. You can go here for checking it out/booking:

    http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.e...

  3. If you travel on a Saturday or Sunday, you can use the "Schönes Wochenende" ("Happy Weekend") Ticket from Deutsche Bahn; it's valid for one Saturday OR Sunday (until 3 a.m. the following day) for up to 5 Persons (maybe someone would like to join you), and costs 33,-- EUR.

You are only allowed to use the slow trains, so the trip will take approximately 5 hours, and you have to change trains twice, in Schwerin and Bad Kleinen. But it's the cheapest option.

  4. It's cheaper if you take the bus, that's about 40 euros either way:

Or you can share a ride, just google for "mitfahrzentrale", they organise this.
