Cheap ways to get from South Africa to New York City? Courier service maybe?

My sister and I are currently in johannesburg south africa trying to get home {new york city} we came here from berlin with a one way cause we were seeing friends and didnt know how long we were staying also we heard we could get cheap tickets here. but alas we were wrong any ideas on how to get a cheap way home? do you courier services still exsist? if so how do we find one?

As far as i know couriers service is shipping/transport goods only. I donn't know  if they are giving public transport to the community too.
