What would be cheaper to own, over the course of a few years?

A car priced around $15,000 or a Sportbike (motorcycle) priced around $9,000?

Taking everything into account:

Payments

Insurance

Fuel Cost

maintenance

etc.

  1. I would like to recommend you possess as much information as you can before taking action, here is a good place for that purpose.http://car-insurance.easyideas4u.info/ca...

  2. Depending on the car the insurance and maintanence would probably be higher on the bike and gas and monthly payments higher on the car. Sportbikes need valve adjustments anywhere from every 6,000 miles to every 30,000 plus tire changes every six months, clutch, drive chain, belts all that. There's not much of a difference between a sportbike and the actual race bikes in World Superbike or MotoGP where as there's a HUGE difference between a showroom Celica and a Le Mans C5-R Corvette.

  3. odds are, the bike would be cheaper. just not as practical. what would you do if you needed to give a friend and his luggage a ride to the airport? what happens when you need groceries? what about when it rains?

a bike is excellent for commuting, and i highly recommend getting one. but get a cheap used car for those times when a motorcycle just won't cut it

  4. I would think about the same enless you drive an insane amount of driving. The gas would be a lot cheaper in the sportbike but the resale value would be a lot higher on the car, not so much for a sports bike. They insurance would be close to the same (lots of variables so hard to say). The paymets would of coarse be more on the car. The fuel cost would be less on the sportsbike. The maintenence would be more on the sportsbike (well it will if you expect it to last anytime at all) you can't just give a bike a oil change and be done, you have to lubricate the chain, change tires every 5,000 miles or so adjust/change the chain (if it has on, shaft is much better). Plus it depends on if you like driving a motorcycle.

  5. The bike should be cheaper in every respect.

  6. just wanted to add that if you do the repairs urself the bike can be a very cheap transportation, and depending on the bike and experience you have insurance can be either cheap or expensive.
