  1. I am Mexican, and I normally always use American companies when renting a car inside Mexico: Hertz, Budget...

    Best of luck to you.

  2. Check with your own agent.  Many of them have contacts with Mexico insurance companies and can add a rider to your policy so you can drive in Mexico.

  3. VERY IMPORTANT!!  While your insurance policy may have a rider that covers you when you drive in Mexico, another thing to keep in mind is that it's the Mexican government that does not always recognize US insurance as sufficient.  Example: I drive to Mexico and have current insurance with a US company and it says I can drive to Mexico.  I get into an accident and show them my insurance.  They haul me to jail and make me wait several days while they decide whether or not they will accept the coverage.  My advice to you: purchase temporary insurance at the border.

    Good Luck!

  4. You'll have to purchase the insurance online from a company in Mexico.  Insurance policies in the US only cover you if you are driving in the US or Canada.

  5. Maybe this resources is useful for you,Have a look,it is free.Good luck for you.
