Tickets to go anywhere in December are twice as much as any other season. I had family coming down from Los Angeles to Nicaragua in early December (they are already here) and they used something called MTOM tours. I don't know where you live but they have offices in Los Angeles (Los Angeles and Van Nuys). They got their tickets for $660, thats the cheapest so far. Don't expect to buy a ticket to El Salvador for anything under $600 in December, its not possible. I don't think your place of residence matters, it didn't with other people i recommend this service too, but call and ask, their service is friendly, they speak Spanish, English and Portuguese and offer extremely cheap airfare prices as well as travel packages, mainly to Nicaragua, but also to other Latin American countries.
