Cheapest form of motorsport?

I've been doing karting for a few years and now i'm looking to move out of karts into something a bit bigger. I'd be funding it myself to start with so I dont want it to cost much more than karting. Any Suggestions??? Thanks

Many drivers are autocrossing karts as well. Might make the transition easier. The words "cheap" and "motorsports" have no place being in the same sentence together. A full blown race car of any kind would require a car hauler/trailer of some kind, tow vehicle, spare tires and parts, and more tools.

Autocrossing.  You can even get a loaner helmet if you need one.
