  1. hmmm i don't know about price but cork is lovely or dublin...cork is pretty and dublin is fun...

  2. Co. Kerry is the cheapest place to buy in Ireland at present. Anywhere within 2 hours of Dublin will be a lot more expensive. Other than Kerry you should try, Mayo, Sligo, Clare or Leitrim. How close you are to a major town will determine how expensive a house will be so avoid places close to Galway, Cork, Limerick and Dublin!

  3. Hi Lily..

Ireland is an expensive place to buy property now But on a budget its important to Not buy near urban areas, ie cities.

Therefore land is VERY expensive AROUND Dublin especially and Cork to a lesser extent..other urban ares are Waterford, Galway city, Limerick.

Ideal areas for traditional rural cottages where there is more value for money would be the counties Clare, Tipperary, Kilkenny,Kerry,West-Waterford, Leitrim  (Leitrim is the least densely populated county in Ireland but is far from major urban areas) Sligo,Roscommon,Mayo.

    Try searching  www.baile.ie

(baile is the Irish for the word 'Home'!)

    Good luck,

    Paul
