Question:

Cheapest place to rent in Sydney?

How much am I looking at paying a month for a 1 bedroom apartment for a month, in a cheaper area of Sydney. Obviously, I assume the most expensive areas are around the CBD, but will areas prehaps 15-20 miles outside the CBD, but on the railway line be cheaper?

  1. See these sites for rental properties

    www.realestate.com.au

    www.domain.com.au

You can use google maps to find the distances and travel times to Sydney

  2. To start off, we don't use "miles" here so if you can understand me or you meant in "kilometres" instead it'd be great.

Sydney is expensive no matter where you are but places around Canterbury and Bankstown which is between 15 to 20kms from the CBD are a bit cheaper. This area, though has a high concentration of immigrants from backgrounds such as China, Vietnam, Greece and Lebanon so it's very multicultural.

Some suburbs you may want to look at in this area are: Canterbury, Campsie, Belmore, Lakemba, Wiley Park, Punchbowl, Bankstown.

    Good luck.
