My BF wants to adopt but read that for some children they'll wave the fee... Like older boys for example ... is that true? How much is the cost?

Do u get to go through a photo album of kids or do they come to you as a surprise?

  1. I believe what you are talking about is adoption.  Fostering children means you are a caregiver until you or someone else legally adopts them.  I foster children and am in the process of adopting and there is no fee.  Have no clue of what website you are talking about to pay a fee to Foster a child and not adopt!!!

You also have to be employed / some say married / and of age~!  And I don't think you should adopt as one of your other questions was asking if you should cut the adopted child out of your will.  I am assuming that the question is a joke, but I just thought it was cruel on an especially touchy subject.

So, give me the thumbs down.

  2. Before you can adopt through the foster system, there is a serious of classes you need to take.  Each child comes with its own set if circumstances.  It can be as little as $250 to adopt through the foster system, but chance of getting a baby are slim, and you have almost no hope of getting a new born.  Usually if you decide on a child you want to adopt through the system, they spend some time with you, and then go back to the foster home, and then come back to you and then back to the foster home so you have plenty of time to make sure this is what you want to do and that this child will work for you.  Remember, when adopting through the foster system, there is a good chance your child will come with some emotional and physical baggage, but they are still children that need love and have lots of love to give!!

  3. well, he'll have to be your husband for at least 2 years before you'll qualify to adopt.... but take a look at adoptuskids.com to see some of the kids who are available to adopt. BTW, we almost lost our house doing foster care because they weren't helping us out with day care and I had to cut my hours down tremendously. "doing it for the money" is NOT a good idea...
