Cheapest way to get a first car?

Question

for a first car how much would be looking to pay, i dont really mind how it goes so it gets me from A to B no car inparticular.

And so i can afford the insurance, straight after starting to drive.

I could always try fronting (put parents names on insurance), but wouldnt want go get caught.

How much would i expect to pay roughly.

I know it's a very generalised question sorry

check on Craig's list you can get beaters there for cheap. Look for a seller who just needs to get rid of it because they are moving or need cash fast. I suggests this because nine times out of ten it will last you a while.

Or try to buy from family members, you can always get a family discount from relatives. Good luck.

i would say save from $500 to $1000 and look through the paper for people selling cars for cheap. and usually the prices are negotiable. my husband sold his 89' truck for $1300 and it was listed for $1500. it was in really good condition and we still see the guy who bought it driving it around

check out craigslist. they have some pretty good used cars for sale by owner or dealer and there are a lot for under $2000.

Well expect to pay anywhere from 1-3K for the car. And if you get an older four door four cylinder and add you AND your car to your parents policy, you might only have to pay about 75-80 a month on insurance.

small pair of sewing scissors always worked for me and my friends back in the day

just jam one sharp blade of the scissors into the door lock and twist, if its an older car it should open no problems.

then do the same with the ignition

to setup your insurence for the first time it'll be like .. 150 bucks-

and then every month after that youll have to pay about 50 bucks a month for your insurence..

and then you have to buy the tag for your car-

which is about 25 bucks.

and then to get your first car??

i dont know- go yard shopping and see if anyones selling anything decent..

or go to a dealer who has previously owned cars so you can get a decent one for cheap.

Well you can get a nice used car for 5 thousand dollars. You could go cheaper if you want. I would say if you really dont care then minimum 2000 dollars.

depends on what you want and how reliable you want the car. Sorry no easy answer for that. You can buy cars for 1000 bucks and 10000 bucks for first buys. Also, It is LEGAL to put your parents names on the car and you be the secondary driver. There is nothing illegal about that.

check the local newspaper for spical ads

and stuff anything under 15 thousand is cheap

but you can find cars for like 9
