My Dad has to travel to Saint John, NB for a couple of days for a job intreview. He hasn't been anywhere else in Canada except Halifax, so he's wondering about the cheapest way to get there. He's also wondering about any cheap motels/places to stay at. Also, if I were to come with him (I'm his daughter), how much more would the expenses increase by? Any suggestions/advice will be highly appreciated. Thank you!

  1. try the bus, it may take a while but it is fairly inexpensive.

as for a hotel you can google saint john hotels and you should get a list. the less expensive ones may not be all that pretty but they will do the job. some hotels have a continental breakfast included in the cost of a room and that will help with the cost. if not ask for a room with a small fridge (if possible ) there may be a small charge for it but you can stock up on food for a couple of days if your not picky.

there would be no extra charge for you at a hotel, and it would be the cost of a second bus ticket if thats the way you decide to travel

  2. Not sure about hotels- you could check tripadvisor.com- it is a people based rating of hotels- the number one is Holiday Inn Express for Saint John - you may want to find one close to either the bus depot or the apointment because you will have to take a taxi sometimes. This site should help you find one

The cheapest way to go is on the Acadian bus lines.

before taxes it is $111 return per adult so $222 for both of you plus taxes. A child is considered 12 and under, the cost for them is $66 return. It is about a 4-5  hour trip

Hotel won't go up in cost if you share a room the only added expense is your ticket
