Cheapest way to get plane tickets on day of travel?

I'm going around europe by InterRail but don't know where i'll end up by the end i was wondering what the cheapest way to get a plane ticket back to England (Newcastle preferably) from europe with only a day or so notice i would probably have internet/phone access but wouldn't be able to get the ticket delivered

haha good luck.  I hope you have a decent limit on your credit card.  The only way you could get a cheap ticket is to be on stand by and hope for someone to cancel and if you get lucky they will fly you all over the place where ever there is an open seat.    Why did you wait until the last minute?

Use Skyscanner because it will check all of the low-cost airlines for you in 1 go, and show you if it's much cheaper to wait another day or 2, for example.  http://www.skyscanner.net

Try lastminute.com  I LOVE that site for last minute travel.   Unfortunately they are usually only for weekend travel.  Kayak.com is also great!
