  1. Ferry might be cheaper.

Also, it might be a long travel time but if you travel at the right times you might be able to get special discounts on train tickets from the North down to London, and a special deal on the Eurostar.

You're more likely to get cheap tickets (train/plane/ferry) if you can be flexible about when you travel.

  2. Enter "Cheap Flights" into a search engine.  Work your way through the results until you find one that will find you cheap flights from what you consider a convenient airport to Brussels.  Parking charges can be high so check these as well.  Newcastle Airport is on the metro, which might make a difference.

  3. If you don't want the hassle of driving by yourself, you might consider a coach from National Express. A return ticket for an adult from Leeds to Brussels is 57 quid including booking fee. It will be a long journey, but it is fairly cheap. Driving by yourself would probably more expensive.

  4. If you are looking for the cheapest way to get to Brussels, you would be traveling by coach (National Express / Eurolines). There are indeed a lot of lowcost carriers, but the really cheap tickets aren't available in most cases anymore. When you book a ticket by lowcost carrier, you probably end up in Brussels South, which is actually Charlerois. This airport has no rail connection to Brussels, so you would be taking the bus to Brussels, which takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour, single way. They will charge you 11 Euro for it, which is somewhere around £8 per person. Plus, you are restricted to weight limits of 15 kilos in most cases. Nowadays, you have to pay for handluggage or even for checking in bags seperately.

So the cheapest way would be by bus, and it is about £60 per person and it brings you in the heart of Brussels. Sometimes it is more interesting to travel from London (Luton or City) or Newcastle, if you really want to fly.

Whatever you choose, I wish you a very good trip. Travel safe my friend! x

  5. Don't forget to check out the low cost carriers flying to Brussels South, Eindhoven, Maastricht/Aachen

  6. You can get the ferry cheaper.

  7. Brussels isn't really a 'budget' destination for flights. I have never managed to get a cheap flight there. Have you considered getting a coach to London and then Eurostar? There are tickets for £29.50 each way, and you might qualify for some kind of discount. Would probably add up to more than you wanted to spend, but might be cheaper than flying, especially since it takes you to the centre of Brussels. By the way a Eurostar ticket also entitles you to travel onwards to anywhere in Belgium by train for no extra cost.

  8. flybe.com offers flights in October from Manchester to Brussels to start at £12,24. The price for the cheapest round trip with taxes and charges would be £79,84
