Question:

Cheapest way to get to Nova Scotia?

Hey there,

I have a few days to kill in May (about a week) and I'm desperately trying to decide what to do. I've thought about a few places but now I'm wondering if I should go to Nova Scotia. I've always wanted to go! I can get to Montreal easily, so I can leave from there and I don't really care how much time I spend travelling. Any creative ideas? I've been researching like mad and would appreciate any pointers!

thanks :)

  1. Can't resist this one..... first, however, don't try hitching: it's getting far more difficult than it ever was, and for ladies it is downright perilous!!  A Westjet flight from Montreal might just be the cheapest regular way to go; if you get the lowest rate it is cheaper than the bus, and most definitely cheaper than train - although i always love taking the train whenever one can afford it (the scenery from the dome car is great!).  Driving with 2 friends (not just one) in a small car would be even cheaper if you could set that up.  A more "creative" way to do it might be to go to McGill University and see if they have a "ride sharing" bulliten board - or better yet, get someone to post on it for you beforehand.  Good luck and if you make it to halifax, look me up!!

From New Scotland on a delightful spring evening,
