  1. what is travelling for? It is to enjoy life. If the cheapest way does not provide you with certainty, quality, safety, happiness then what is it for?!

You may find a job that needs you to work in Europe.

You can discuss this with some travel agency. They have such plans to satisfy the youngsters' needs.

    Cheap and Fun!

  2. stow away on a really big boat

  3. I've done backpacking and a cruise.  With backpacking I expected it to be so cheap but I spent over $1000 on just food! Not to mention taking ferries, camp ground fees, water, taxis, subways. It all added up so fast.

Cruise was the way to go. I went from Rome all the way around to Stockholm and since all meals were included, it was a bargin compared to the backpacking. I used princess cruises, but Im sure there are less expensive cruise ships.

  4. Try Tiger Air return Singapore.

Then Say Emirates/ Singapore Air ( shop around.) ( Remember the Singapore Dollar May give U around a 30% start.)

Flying  Singapore return Rome, could be cheaper than say  using London.

Use Ryan Air & or Easy Jet to get from A to B,once U get there.

Consider Eurail passes ( But don't assume they R cheaper than waiting till U get there & purchase Point to Point.

In Europe Rail travel wins hands down for comfort.

Use Backpacker hostels of course but don't forget Budget Hotels especially if you R NOT travelling alone.

Bus Travel is cheap but slow & tiring.

Under no circumstances travel in Europe in their peak season ( Suicide would be a better option.)

And if that's not enough, don't forget the 3 golden rules of travel.

    1st.  Travel Light.

    2nd  Travel Light.

    3rd.  Travel Light.

    Good luck.

  5. See if u can find someone whoz willing to let u be an on-board courier...u can save a fuckload that way

I dunno a lot of companies that do it in australia...the only one i know of (www.jupiterair.com.au/obc.htm) doesnt do it anymore.

There are a fair few websites and agents that might be able to fetch u a return ticket for around $2000 if ur not looking to fly right away

    http://www.simplesavings.com.au/newslett...

U could also try contiki http://contiki.com.au/

  6. Well, as you are asking for the cheapest way;  that would be by swimming.  The next would be on a raft.

  7. book early.

buy a open ticket three years in advance... your sure to get a major bargain. If your young and you KNOW you will travel, save up and buy it as soon as possible.

    OR

ma dad once flew on a mail airplane for free from san diego to LA....

i know that stand-by tickets are ridiculously cheap...

i got a stand-by ticket from seoul to sydney, because i changed plans and wanted to come home early and all tickets were booked out.

basically what a stand-by ticket is.... you go to the airport on the day and wait. 15 mins before you airplane departs, if they have space they allow you to buy a ticket. (if somebody cancels or sumthing) its cheap, but risky, coz you mite not make the flight....

i seriously dont recomend the low cost carrier services... they arnt THAT much cheaper... once you start flying alot... you will realise that its worth it to pay and extra $30-$60 for a hot meal, wine and heaps better service. virgin, jet star, tiger all that cheap sh*t... it really isnt worth it. Also el-cheapO carriers dont let you change plans nor do they give you a refund if things go badly.

after uni games, once i used virgin... and man they had the crappest service EVER. computer malfuntion and 1/3 of passengers stranded, and baggage ariving at different times... bla bla bla

seriously tho, you get what you pay for.
