I have just had some fish finger sandwiches, marvel of the modern world. I bought 2 packets of the Birds Eye omega 3 fish fingers. Thought nothing off it, they tasted funny so i looked more closely at the packaging and low and behold they aren't cod, they are POLLOCK, I don't like Pollock and would never have bought Pollock fish fingers. How crafty are birds eye to not call them Pollock right up front, on the pack and not just in tiny little letters on the back?? have you ever been caught out like this before?? It is just plain wrong. The main ingredient should be right there on the front of the pack for all to see. I feel cheated. I know the cod stocks are low, and am happy to eat haddock, our local chippy serves pangasius and chips and it is very nice, but it should be right there for all to see. Have you been caught out like me?? What can we do about it?? I feel really cheated, they weren't cheap!! x

  1. you should read packaging more carefully pollock is more sustainable cod is running out so they cant use them as much they taste the same as cod, haddock is also an endangered species of fish so they use mroe sustainable fish, lobster tails from seaside arent made from lobster there made from a cheap substitute

  2. I bought a bag of salted cash-ews, but all I found inside were nuts.

I bought a packet of Monte Carlo, but all I found inside were biscuits.

I bought a kilo of pigs trotters, but they couldn't even walk.

I bought a kilo of ox tongues, but they didn't have anything to say.

i bought a block of old gold, but all i found inside was chocolate

i bought a bag of rocky road, but all i got was some marsmallow covered with chocolate

  3. Had they called them "Cod Fingers", then you could feel cheated. They were called Fish fingers - the onus is then on you to turn the box over and read the side of the box where is specifies WHAT type of fish.

Fish could be anything.. and I *personally* would suspect that any product called fish vs. specific kind of fish is probably  not something of high quality. Kinda like I would not suspect something poetically called meat sticks to contain top sirloin. I imagine if they contained that then it would SAY so.... :)
