  1. I cant believe Im actually reading this from a rugby player! leave the unsportsmanship for soccer fairies, and compensate your obvious lack of talent (why else would you ask this?) with hard training!

I dont give a d**n about best answer this time.

  2. i know you do not want to hurt people, but the best way is to take them out! check them in the face if you have to! okay okay: have a friend who is good at rugby sit out for part of a game and watch the other team then at like half time, have them tell you the weaknesses the other team has!

    good luck!

  3. ok

    im a ruger

and will play for vegas next year

    hit thier legs

if they dont have legs they cant run

in the ruck put your knee on their ribs to give u more power/balance

and punch their balls after they takle u in the ruck

    i hook

    oh herss a great tip

kinda g*y but will save the srcum

    kiss the oposing hooker

its good u want to kno this

    rugby isnt fair

  4. Mate, get real.

You obviously haven't played many games at prop. The tight five don't need to be asking about cheats.

If you want to help your team:  train hard, eat well, develop quality technique and fitness - these things will give your team a bigger advantage than any cheat.

  5. I have had a run-in with the cowardly aussie5468 as well...  he doesnt think women should play rugby union.  ha ha

anyhow, you shouldnt consider it cheating, its only wrong if you get caught and the sir only has one set of eyes... but we of course do not condone any unsportsmanship on the pitch... I guess the "tricks of the trade" come with the experience and once something is done to you, you'll be able to re-produce the trick...if you want.  until then, keep your chin up, back strong, drive and you can always bind onto the other prop a few extra seconds... ;-)

    ruck on

  6. when you go into a ruck? and the opposition is not releasing the ball? we pull their finger back untill they do... and give them kidney shots.. this is what our coaches taught us lollll

i play wing... soo right before i get tackled.... i throw my elbows up at their chest to get a quick chest shot

; ) maybe this i'll help ya out

  7. Ok, first to get it out of the way that I do not endorse unsportsmanlike conduct in any way, but I know a few things.  First, as soon as you engage in the scrum you reach over and put your hand on the opposite guy's leg near the hip, thereby stopping him from driving too well.  It is paramount you do NOT let the sir see you do this, or you will get binned, maybe sent off outright.  This works best if you're playing tight.  I know a few other things, but you really shouldn't do anything unsportsmanlike, specifically for the Golden rule:  If you cheat, you will most likely wind up under someone's boot, getting tattooed.

  8. You want your team to have a slight advantage? Train hard and play hard according to the laws. Leave the nonsense stuff - they lead to penalties and cards. And nothing like a few of those to give the opposition a slight advantage.

But you want tips? Talk to your opponent over a beer after the game. Especially when he gave you a bit of a work over. Nothing works better than handing him a frosty and saying something like " you really #%$**& me up today, how do you do it" to stroke the ego and get them talking.

  9. Some of these answers are just going to get you hurt if you come up against any decent opposition.  Some of these senior props will not muck around with a kid trying to pull old tricks.

Do your apprenticeship, train hard, learn the correct way, and develop the tricks of the trade through experience.

If you try these on without knowing what you are doing can cause serious injuries, and it ain't pleasant watching someone stretchered off with a neck injury.

My biggest tip is to ignore those answers from people who obviously haven't played much, or very good quality rugby.

  10. Damien's got it spot on.

I think this kid's asking about more "advanced techniques" like boring in on the hooker, taking a long bind (for a tighthead), pulling down, twisting etc etc.

Can't teach you these sort of things by writing about them pal, you have to learn them like we did - in the "school of hard knocks". I remember one match in Brisbane when I was about 19, I was up against an ex-Wallaby loosehead. I got a bit "too big for my boots" in one scrum & left the field shortly afterwards with a cut over my left eye that required 18 stitches from one well placed punch. You live and learn....

I will tell you one thing for free........... what goes around, comes around, particularly in the front row. Play with fire, you're gonna get burned, so expect more than a few smacks in the mouth if you want to try it on ;-)

(Then again, he's in all likelihood an American, so they'll all be as unskilled as one another lol)

The only decent responses I've seen here have come from Damian, Plomza, Joaquim, Andy E, and myself.........

Megan D, (below), have another read of my earlier post. I've attached the link to it to jog your memory:

How sorry I am for having an opinion !!!! It's VERY clear that I didn't say "Women shouldn't play rugby" , I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't mis-quote me.

This is what I DID say:

"Megan, I hear what you're saying. But please hear me out, (or feel free to report me if what I have to say isn't what you want to hear).

As far as I'm concerned, each to their own, if women want to play rugby, then who am I to stop them? However, what gets me is the "political correctness" that comes with the introduction of women to a rugby club".

    AND:

"So, in closing I'd like to say that I have no problem with women wanting to play rugby, but not at a men's club. Let them form their own clubs, with their own coaching staff & infrastructures, and keep them well away from the "real" rugby".

Everyone is free to follow the above link to see my full post on this topic.................

It's a point of view Megan, I fail to see how I've "attacked" you in any way!! Don't come out with broad sweeping statements about me on a public forum that simply aren't true. For a woman with a college education, I would expect far superior comprehension skills to those you've displayed!!!

Just because I don't agree with you, doesn't make me a "coward". The earlier question asked for an OPINION - there was no caveat attached that said "Only if your opinion is the same as mine"!!

By the way, I just found the "question" you posted many months back slagging me off - thanks for that! Another example of you twisting my post to suit yourself!!!!
