The check engine light on my VW Jetta keeps coming on, about 4 months ago I had a new catalytic converter (spelling?) put in, the light went off up until now.

The car seems to running fine...what gives? Is this common with VWs?

  1. Kelley F. gave good advice. Autozone and some other parts stores have a hand held diagnostic device that will tell you in a couple of minutes what the problem is. Sounds to me like a sensor, but that's a guess.Autozone isyour best bet. They don't charge you to test it and they nearly always have the part in stock.Good luck!

  2. check engine light means check engine it can be many things... so first check all your fluids.. if they are ok then drive to  autozone and have it scan... or take to a shop and let them find the problem

  3. LOOSEN GAS CAP AND RETIGHTEN,GAS FUMES MAKE CHECK ENG LIGHT COME ON.
