ok so i shopped at Rocky Road Mountain 06/08/08 >last year< i paid with a check so yeah you would think that they would cash the check within days. My luck the owner or what ever decides to cash the check >02/29/08<8months 21 days later! It's a business!wft!?!the account i'm about to close because i don't use it no more but since i have no money in it ofcourse the check was bounced so now i have a $35 dollar fee from my bank and a $25 dollar fee from the store because i had unsufficient funds!which is ridiculous because i don't think i should be resposible for those fee's i've paid what i owe to both of them but now that i've thought about it and tried to get my money back they don't want to so i'm thinking about suing both. Isn't the check policy 90days?for personal and for business' they have 6 months!so yeah i need help!

  1. you write the check in june 2008 but he wants to cash it feb 2008? impossible. You cant cash a check 4 months before it is even written

  2. It may seem irresponsible, but checks you issue may be good for up to two or more years, depending on your bank's policy. Before you cry foul, find out what the rules are.

You made the decision long ago to disregard your debt and spend that money even though you had a check outstanding for the funds. You neither tried to satisfy the debt nor did you put a stop payment on the check.

Your decisions left you open to the penalties you now face. You can continue to ignore their fee demands, however, I do suggest you pay the store for your original purchase.
