Check for warrants at airports?

My husband and I are trying to take a trip to Mexico. We both have outstanding warrants. Do they check for warrants going over boarders?

The Mexicans most likely won't but you are in for the "ride of your life" upon return to the USA. Customs checks everyone including citizens upon arrival on US soil. But don't feel bad, we do it in Canada also!! Just yesterday at the Emerson crossing 2 U S  citizens were stopped on a non returnable warrant from IL, they weren't arrested, just turned back to Pembina ND. Both were for traffic violations, and one guy had a child support issue.

What type of warrants are they? Traffic tickets???

you might want to take care of that unless you want to take an all expense paid vacation..

Of course they don't!  They just let everyone into their country without ever checking what kind of people they let in.  They want fugitives and criminals coming into their country!

Why don't you take the money that you are using for the trip and clear up your mess?

Traditionally, yes. Particularly with people coming into the United States from Mexico, border agents are very  thorough in their searches. If you're fleeing to Mexico so you deadbeats don't have to go to court, I suggest you do it across the desert.

Nope, they don't. . . You would think they would, seems like a good idea, but they don't.

Yes they do.  You both will be arrested plane side/landborder crossing/cruise ship room by US Customs.  Then turned over to local authorities.  Every person entering the United States is run through NCIC and all warrants (from runaways to FBI warrants) are confirmed via phone and teletype.  If there is no extradition, then you MAY be let go if the local authorities deem it okay.  However, like I said, US Customs will arrest you, yes that means cuffs and all the trimmings when you re-enter the US.

Here is an idea JUST TAKE CARE OF THE WARRANTS!!!

If you can afford a trip to Mexico, then you can afford to clear up your legal messes!  Yes they arrest fugitives at the border!!!

isn't taking care of you legal obligations more important than a vacation to mexico.

Why would you even consider a pleasure trip if you have outstanding warrants...amazing....
