helo all. im kinda fascinated with calisthenics and i love doing them. i stand at 5'11 and weight 75 kg. thats ideal. not too big, not too small. my personal records for calisthenics are 60 diamond pushups in a row, full range of motion, 14 weighted standard pushups in a row with 55kg person sitting on my back. full range of motion. and 25 one leg squat aka the pistol in a row for each leg. so, honestly, what do u think of that? any kind of opinions needed. and appreciated. thanks and have a nice day.

  1. Sounds good, calisthenics are a very important part of your fitness regiment. A lot of people don't like to do them... so you are ahead of the game! I used to play #6 and #7, and half the battle was just being able to *get to* the play, in order to contribute (ruck, maul, tackle, catch).

The only few things I would recommend are:

    1. Don't forget your core when you are exercising. Integrate abdominal work in there -- not just crunches, but leg lifts and different types of situps. These muscles hold your body together; they're not called "core" for no good reason!

    2. I don't believe it is safe for a person to be sitting on your back during pushups. The weight is not distributed evenly, and will put undue pressure on your spine.

    3. Consider jumping rope, and/or running.

Other than that, you're on the right track! Just keep doing what you're doing, and increase your repetitions over time.

    Good Luck and Have Fun!

  3. Stop counting and weighing things and have some fun playing rugby.
